We love what we do and it shows. With a life-time of dog experience, even making friends with a Timber wolf and an Artic Wolf whilst travelling through the US, Abigail recognised the fundamental trait of hierarchy and family in both species.  Easily seeing how we would have been attracted to each other many 1000s of years ago.  Alas the Timberwolf was initially mistaken by Abigail as a large Shepherd like dog.   The nursing animal witnessed Abigail walked up to her and her babies as they lay in a makeshift whelping box.  Accepted her stroking her the head, noticed as, with no fear, she picked up one of her escaping babies returning it immediately to her as she was feeding 10 others in the whelping pen.  On doing so telling this first time Mum that she was such a clever girl, she was beautiful and so were her babies.  The animal instantly tasted the air around  Abigail's face, licked her on the lips, looked down at her babies and left Abigail to Baby-sit?  Unknowing she had become a wolf nanny, a rank that usually takes many months to acquire, but on this occasion Abigail has been given and instant promotion.  It wasn't until the Tall, Stetson wearing Ex GI, now cowboy said to Abigail that he had never witnessed such a thing before, pledging to be her also her friend for life, for if his Timberwolf, who he had found orphaned and underweight 14 months prior, whilst hunting, was to trust her with her babies, who was he to challenge that decision?  After the shock of the discovery, Abigail began to take particular notice of the likeness of needs, between the three species, Wolf, dog, and us, conscienously incorperating into her relationship with dogs and herself.
